The Chicken of Tomorrow
This game weaves together issues of equity (food justice, workers’ rights, collective action), science (hybridization, artificial selection, animal rights), and history (‘better living through science’ in Post-WWII America, the rise of ‘late-stage’ capitalism). Players take on the role of chicken farmers in three iconic eras, allowing them to guide the development of poultry farming and see the impact their choices have on humanity and its relation to food. Each era presents the players with unique challenges as they attempt to create The Chicken of Tomorrow!
